The main activities of Hitachi Koki Asia Co., Ltd. are manufacturing and selling power tools. The company also manufactures and sells life-science instruments. Hitachi Koki has now developed into a technologically advanced manufacturer of high-value added products.


In December 2000, after having initial contact with a Media World's IT consultant, the relationship between Hitachi Koki and Media World was developed very quickly. It started from providing General IT Support to Hitachi Koki's UNIX mail system, the success of the initial support convinced that Hitachi Koki would continue their IT system to be supported by Media World.


In March 2002, Hitachi Koki decided to upgrade the existing UNIX system to Linux server systems, after understanding Media World's new Value-Added Services, Hitachi Koki found the whole service would bring them both a stable system and helpful IT consultant. To deliver the service, Media World upgraded and configured the server systems, provided training, remote IT support, and system monitoring. By then, Media World gradually developed a trustful relationship with Hitachi Koki.


In June 2003, Hitachi Koki encountered a sudden downtime of Email server, and had a serious impact on business operations. After notice of the stiff situation, Media World Immediately responded, by using our Disaster Recovery Plan, performing backup and migrated Emails to temporary mail server, and further strengthened the protection of system. The recovery process was a great success, and it took only Four hours to complete. In less than a Week's time, Media World promptly rebuilt Hitachi Koki's Email system, and performed system migration. Both Hitachi Koki and Media World satisfied with the result and it truly brought the partnership between us stronger.


In 2004, Hitachi Koki believed that it was time to improve the stability and continuity of IT systems, after consulting with Media World, we recommended a Tailor-Made Services Solution to Hitachi Koki. The services solution included an upgrade of Email server protection, an automatic anti-virus and spam reporting system. Understanding the need for a regular, continuing and consistent IT support, we provided consultancy services and delivered a Dedicated onsite system analyst team to support Hitachi Koki in a just-in-time manner. Hitachi Koki was contended and assured that building partnership with Media World would achieve their objectives to have a stable, consistent and continuous IT support services.

 
In 2005, as Hitachi Koki's business has been growing rapidly, the demand for an even better and reliable system was urged. Media World understood that it would be a critical foundation to support the growth of Hitachi Koki, we thus performed a complete Audit and Review of Hitachi Koki's system, including servers, network, firewall, workstations and more. We then established a comprehensive IT Documentation System which became our knowledge database speeding up the IT support services. Additionally, training and consultancy services were further extended.

In the course of building up partnership with Hitachi Koki, with the input from them, Media World has succeeded in monitoring and supporting their system, managing crisis and much more important, establishing a consistent and continuous foundation for Hitachi Koki's daily use.
