Since 2001, our Partnership was initiated…
Service: IT Consultancy Maintenance & Support

The mission of Mahe Freight Ltd. is to provide efficient logistics solutions for Nordic businesses on a global basis through ongoing expansion. Mahe's head office is situated in Denmark, and connected to all the subsidiaries around the world. In 2005, Mahe's subsidiaries have been expanded to Shanghai, People's Republic of China, and subsidiaries in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates have been planned.

In May 2001, after understanding the organizational need of a highly reliable and secure connection to Mahe' head office in Demark, Media World recommended an upgrade of current network infrastructure by installing a CISCO router. On Media World side, we earned a great experience in Cooperating With International IT Team; on Mahe side, a remote-office-to-corporate-office network was strengthened and secured.

The success of initial IT support has already drawn Mahe's attentions on considering Media World as their IT consultant. In July 2001, continuous on-site maintenance and support services were scheduled, and extended to System Wide Level, our support covered system and email servers, workstations and firewall. In October 2001, maintenance hour and services were further extended and concentrated on supporting the communication network between HK office and Demark head office.

Staring from February 2002, Mahe signaled an emergent need for accommodation to mobile users all around the world, in specific, HK, China and UK mobile users. Media World recommended to install a firewall with VPN functions in HK office. We understood that the network infrastructure was diverse in different countries, we therefore configured the systems in concerning offices to allow both broadband and dial-up remote connections for maximum availability.

In February 2004, the legacy IT systems of Mahe started to fail to accommodate the growth of both Mahe and increasing number of mobile users, especially users in China. Although continuing support and consultation had been concurrently provided by Media World, the effect had already be maximized. In July 2004, Mahe accepted our recommendation to launch a Multi-Phrase System Upgrade Project. In the first phrase, a remote terminal server was set up to tailor made the needs for mobile users in China. Not only a fast and reliable remote connection was established, the capabilities of file sharing and email were also improved.

In the second phrase, Media World recommended to upgrade the email exchange server from version 5.5 to 2003 and operating server system from version NT 4.0 to 2003 respectively. As a consequence of Mahe's acquisitions activities, they had evolved a fragmented and complex IT infrastructure all around the world, and these infrastructure was costly to be maintained and supported.
Due to the complexity of migration from legacy systems, Media World conducted an In-Depth Study and arranged Regular Communications with IT support team in Mahe's head office. In January 2005, the second phrase started from transferring the user files and emails to a temporary servers, and configuring the necessary routing and domain settings. Concurrently, a new Windows server and exchange server 2003 were set up, and Simulation Of Migration was conducted successfully. With strong and solid experience in disaster recovery management, the actual transfer and migration processes were smooth and faultless.

In the development of partnership with Mahe, starting from a Simple router setup to System Wide maintenance and support, Media World succeeded in building trustful relationship with Mahe. We further gained Trust And Experience from designing a network accommodating mobile users in different Regions, especially users in China. The achievement affirmed Mahe's management to ask support from Media World when a Cross-Countries Migration Project was planned.
