Vun Fat Industrial Co Ltd was found in 1988. They are plastic importer and recycler who associated with office, plants and warehouse located in Hong Kong and China. Toys, phone and electrical components are one of their production specialties.

As business of Vun Fat Industrial Co Ltd grew rapidly, improvements on business efficiency and effectiveness of all areas were urged, Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) software was then resolved. Among the consideration list of Vun Fat, Media World was the only one that processed Expertise Of Both Software Application And Provision Of IT Support Services.


In November 2003, a 3-phrase ERP implementation project was started, including a Program Of Adaptation To New System, Hardware Installation, And System Maintenance And Support.

In the first stage, a dedicated ERP consultation team was assigned to Vun Fat for 2.5 months, conducting a Business Process Analysis, interviewing key personnel and looking for opportunities to re-engineer the existing business processes, in order to develop international standards. Then, a new Database Was Customized and developed new standards and procedures for Vun Fat. After that, Adaptation Program was launched, including an Operational Training Program providing to front line staff in both Hong Kong and China, and a Customized Training Program preparing for managerial level. In the course of developing Vun Fat’s new standards, their reports, business procedures and documents were recorded systemically.

In parallel with first stage, hardware installation was launched in the second stage. A Microsoft Windows 2000 server were set up, Security Settings were applied to system, including user policy access and action controls. After that, a Disaster Recovery Program was customized to Vun Fat’s needs, regular backup and tasks were scheduled, and a hot stand-by server was set up with server load balance facilities, achieving a goal of having Zero Server Down Time.

In the end of software and hardware implementation stages, regular system maintenance and support services were scheduled, including a Real Time System Monitoring Services, while multiple monitoring servers run protocol based tests on Vun Fat’s system at specific intervals, once abnormal traffic, server downtime or connection timeout were traced in the system, a SMS message and Email alert will be sent automatically to our system engineers. Moreover, Media World’s IT Documentation System were adopted to greatly lower the time involving in maintaining and supporting the IT infrastructure.

In the course of developing partnership with Vun Fat, their business structures and processes were studied, combining experience of Media World’s ERP consultation team with advantages of Vun Fat’s system, an international standards with localization was set up.
